Police Department Announces Changes to Records Window Hours
Effective Monday, April 20 window hours for the Westport Police Department Records Room (including Railroad Parking) will change to Monday through Friday between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Parks & Recreation Director Stuart McCarthy Announces Retirement
Stuart McCarthy, Director of Parks and Recreation will retire after 30 years of service to the Town of Westport. McCarthy joined Westport’s Parks and Recreation Department in 1985 and was promoted to Director in 1989.

Career Coach will be in Westport on Thursday, April 16
The American Job Center Southwest’s Career Coach will be at Westport Town Hall on Thursday, April 16. The Coach will offer a beginner’s class in PowerPoint 2007 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in PowerPoint 2007 from 1 – 3 p.m.

No Animals at Beaches Effective April 1
As of April 1 the “no animals at the beaches” regulation will be in effect. It includes Compo, Burying Hill and Old Mill beaches.

Sewer Repair Complete; Road to be Paved Tuesday Morning
The sewer main repair has been completed and all four lanes of Post Rd East are now open. On Tuesday morning crews will return to apply a permanent paving patch. Paving will begin in the affected area after 9 a.m..and will result in temporary lane closures again.

Status and Updates on Tree-related Projects
Over 100 trees have been planted throughout Westport, beginning in the spring of 2014. Throughout the year, additional trees were planted at a number of town properties, including Town Hall, the Town Transfer Station, Staples High School, Veterans Green, Jesup Road and Longshore Club Park.
