Results of Town-wide Transit District Survey to be discussed Monday, Dec. 12
The findings of a recently completed town-wide survey of attitudes about public transportation will be discussed at the next meeting of the Westport Transit District (“WTD”) on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Room 201 at Westport Town Hall.

P&Z to Review Text Amendment to Zoning Regulation on Dec. 15
The P&Z Commission is scheduled to review an amendment to the Westport Zoning Regulations on Dec. 15. The amendment proposes to expand the authority of the P&Z to grant both Lot Area and Lot Shape incentives (relief to zoning standards) to enable the preservation of historic residential structures in certain cases.

The Career Coach Returns on Thursday, Dec. 8

Westport Board of Selectmen Approve Use of Main Street for Holiday Valet Service
The Westport Board of Selectmen today approved the use of Main Street for a Downtown Merchants’ Association–sponsored valet service during the upcoming Holiday shopping season. Consumers arriving in the Downtown area will have the option of having their vehicles parked via the fully insured, professional valet service, Valet Park of America.

First Selectman Announces Town Operations Director’s Resignation
First Selectman Jim Marpe has announced that he recently received the resignation letter of Town Operations Director Dewey Loselle, effective as of the end of business on Friday, Nov. 18. Mr. Loselle was appointed to his position in June, 2014.

Road Delays Possible Thanksgiving Morning in Greens Farms
The Pequot Road Runners of Fairfield are hosting their 39th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. Westport residents in the Greens Farms section of Westport can expect road closures and delays on Thanksgiving morning from approximately 7:30 a.m.-10 a.m.

Annual Holiday Giving Program Seeks Donations
The Department of Human Services will again sponsor its annual Holiday Giving Program for Westport residents. The Human Services Department serves as a facilitator, allowing Westport residents who wish to give to do so, while protecting the confidentiality of both the donor and receiver.

First Selectman Announces Establishment of Saugatuck TOD Master Plan Steering Committee
First Selectman Jim Marpe has announced the establishment of the Saugatuck Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Master Plan Steering Committee (the “Saugatuck Steering Committee” or “SSC”). The mission of the Committee shall be to provide input, guidance and direction to professional planning consultants chosen to develop a transit-oriented master plan for the Saugatuck area.

Dead Man’s Brook Drainage Study to Begin on Nov. 11
The BL Companies of Meriden, CT will be commencing its comprehensive analysis of Dead Man’s Brook and its tributaries on or about Nov. 11, 2016. The purpose of the study will be to analyze streamflow, culverts, flooding, and to make recommendations for long term improvements.

Construction Alert for Church Lane on Nov 2 - Nov. 3
The town has approved the closure of Church Lane from its intersection at Elm Street to Post Road East from 7 a.m. on Nov. 2 until 5 p.m. on Nov. 3 for road grading and paving.

First Selectman Jim Marpe has announced that he has accepted the resignation of Planning and Zoning Director Steven Palmer and that he has named Deputy Director Mary Young to the position of Director of Planning and Zoning.

Halloween Parade Festivities will be held at Town Hall at 3:30 p.m.
The Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Downtown Merchants Association and the Westport PAL, have cancelled today’s Halloween parade due to the inclement weather, but treats and entertainment will be available in Town Hall beginning at 3:30 p.m.
