Flu Cases on the Rise; WWHD Still has Vaccine
Flu activity continues to increase throughout the nation and is wide-spread in Connecticut. The Westport Weston Health District still has vaccine available and if you have not received your annual flu vaccination, you are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Tax Relief Applications Accepted as of Feb. 1
Applications for the State and Local Tax Relief programs are being accepted as of Feb. 1, 2017. As in the past, all applications will be taken by appointment only. Prior to calling, taxpayers must have 2016 tax returns completed for both personal (Federal and Connecticut) and/or business along with a copy of the 2016 Social Security earnings statement.

The Career Coach returns on Feb. 9
On Thursday, Feb 9, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft Excel 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.

The Town of Westport has experienced nine stolen vehicles in the past two months. In ALL cases, the vehicle doors were unlocked and the keys were left in the vehicle.

Westport has experienced numerous vehicle break-ins during December. In all cases of vehicles being entered, which resulted in thefts, the doors were unlocked. The recent thefts have occurred overnight. The Westport Police Department reminds you to please lock your car and bring your keys inside.

Third Quarter Taxes Due January 1
Third quarter real estate taxes, personal property taxes, and sanitary sewer use and assessment charges are due January 1, 2017. Taxpayers have until February 1, 2017 to pay taxes without penalty.
