  • Medicare Open Enrollment, Part D Assistance Available through the Department of Human Services beginning Oct. 15

    The Medicare Open Enrollment period begins on Oct. 15, 2017 and runs through Dec. 7, 2017. Beneficiaries can review their prescription drug plans and make changes based on one’s individual needs. Residents can contact the Department of Human Services for Assistance with navigating this program.

  • Cribari Bridge Inspection Scheduled by CT DOT

    The Connecticut Department of Transportation has informed the Selectman’s Office that a scheduled structural condition inspection of several steel piles supporting the Cribari Bridge which carries Route 136 over the Saugatuck River in Westport is anticipated to take place beginning Oct. 10.

    On Thursday, Oct. 12, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft Excel 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.

    On Oct. 5 the Planning & Zoning Commission will review an amendment to the Westport Zoning Regulations The amendment proposes to modify Section 27-2.2 of the Zoning Regulations to allow Healthcare Professional, Medical, and Dental use within the Corporate Park District (CPD).

  • Assisted Living, Full Care, and Independent Living Facilities, to be Included in Inclusionary Housing Overlay Zone (IHZ)

    On Oct. 5, the Planning & Zoning Commission will review an amendment to the Westport Zoning Regulations to modify §39A of the Zoning Regulations to allow Assisted Living, Full Care Living and Independent Living Facilities (ALFCIL) within the Inclusionary Housing Overlay Zone (IHZ).

  • CT Trust to Host Information Session on Northeast Corridor Rail Plan in Westport

    The Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, in coordination with the Town of Westport and the Westport Historical Society, will hold an informational meeting on Monday, Oct. 2 from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. in the Auditorium to discuss the Federal Rail Administration’s (FRA) recent NEC FUTURE announcement that includes plans to expand and construct high-speed rail infrastructure through Fairfield County.

  • 2017 We Do Walkways Program – Fall/Winter Cleanup

    The Department offers a list of middle and high school students willing to work small outdoor jobs such as raking leaves or shoveling walkways. There is a suggested fee of $10 per hour. Seniors needing assistance may contact the Westport Department of Human Services at 203-341-1050.

  • Second Quarter Taxes Due October 1, 2017

    Westport Tax Collector Harry Whiteley has reminded residents that second quarter real estate taxes, personal property taxes, sanitary sewer use and assessment charges are due Oct. 1. Taxpayers have until Nov. 1 to pay taxes without penalty.

    The Westport Police Department received its official Tier 1 Accredited Status from Connecticut P.O.S.T.C (Police Officers Standards and Training Council).   • "No Turn On Red" Signs to be Removed at Two Town Intersections

    The Board of Selectman’s request to eliminate the “NO TURN ON RED” signs at the town-owned intersections located at Main Street, Myrtle Avenue and Kings Highway North and Main Street, Avery Place and Parker Harding has received preliminary approval by the Office of State Traffic Administration.

  • Longshore Golf Course Bunker Project Begins Construction

    The construction phase of the Bunker Improvement project at Longshore Golf Course, began today with a groundbreaking ceremony on the 12th green. The project consists of the redesign, elimination and addition of bunkers for improved playability and maintenance, installation of bunker liners, and the installation of new sand.
