Tax Collector Harry Whiteley reminds residents that first quarter real estate taxes, personal property taxes, motor vehicle taxes and sanitary sewer use and assessment charges are due July 1.

New Mobi-Mat at Compo Beach & ADA Swim Hours at Longshore Pool
Mobi-Mat will offer people with disabilities and young families with strollers full access to Compo beach. And times set aside at Longshore Pool are for people who may not use the pool due to overstimulation from what can sometimes be a busy setting with lots of people, noise and splashing.

There will be an inspection of the Cribari Bridge on Bridge Street Friday, June 1st, for the Connecticut Department of Transportation from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Please expect minor delays or use an alternate route.

Traffic Advisory for Sunday June 3, 2018
The Fairfield Half Marathon will be taking place this Sunday. A portion of the race will come through Westport between the hours of 8:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The police department asks that motorists use extra caution when driving through the effected roads.

Renew Dog Licenses Beginning June 1
Beginning June 1 dog licenses for 2018-2019 may be obtained from the Town Clerk's office or downloaded from the website. All dogs over six months must be licensed.

Town to Seek Appeal of Summit Ruling
Westport First Selectman Jim Marpe announced today that the town had filed an appeal with the Appellate Court requesting a review of the recent Superior Court order requiring the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) to issue a conditional sewer permit to Summit Saugatuck, LLC.

The Department of Public Works has scheduled paving to begin on Thursday, May 31, weather permitting. Affected roadways are Clapboard Hill Road, Morningside Drive South and Turkey Hill Road South.

Police Will Partner with Mental Grit Fitness to Raise Funds for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
The Westport Police and Mental Grit Fitness of Fairfield County are hosting the 9th Annual Push Against Cancer for Kids event. Individuals and teams from across Connecticut will show their strength and determination as they raise donations for The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 10. from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts.

On Thursday, May 10, 2018 the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft Excel 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.

First Selectman Announces Establishment of Real Property Committee
The First Selectman has established the Real Property Committee for the town. The committee members, residents Helen Garten, Marty Fox and Iain Bruce, shall act as the First Selectman’s advisors with respect to the purchases, leases, other acquisition and/or disposition of real property for open space, recreational uses, municipal facilities, public rights of way, conservation and investment.
