Halloween Parade October 29
The Westport Parks and Recreation Department, the Downtown Merchants Association and Westport P.A.L. have announced that the Annual Children’s Halloween Parade will take place on Monday, October 29, 2018. Children and parents will meet at Main Street and Post Road East at 3:30 p.m. This event is for all children, especially those 8 and under.

The Town’s Green Task Force announced that the first residential recipient of The Westport Green Building Award for Achievement in Sustainable Design and Construction (Green Building Award) is 54 North Avenue.

Public Works Announces 2018 Curbside Leaf Collection Program
The Department requests that homeowners consider the feasibility of backyard composting and suggests that they contact the Conservation Department (341-1170) or Earthplace (227-7253) for relevant information. The ease and cost savings of backyard composting provides a viable alternative to either carting the leaves to the Town Yard Waste Site or filling paper bags for the Town's curbside pickup.

The Career Coach Will Offer 2013 PowerPoint Classes in Westport on Thursday, October 11, 2018
The Career Coach is coming to Town Hall. On Thursday, October 11 the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft PowerPoint 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in PowerPoint 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.

Westport Honored with Sustainable CT Certification
First Selectman Jim Marpe announced that Westport is one of the first Connecticut municipalities to achieve certification as a Sustainable CT community. The town met high standards in a broad range of sustainability accomplishments to qualify for the prestigious bronze certification.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation will be conducting a public information meeting concerning the Network Infrastructure Upgrades Project.
