Annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Scheduled for Oct. 3
The town will host its annual household hazardous waste collection day on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Westport-Weston Health District, 180 Bayberry Lane.

Career Coach will be in Westport May 8 with classes in Excel
The Career Coach will be at Westport Town Hall this week. On Friday, May 8, the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Excel 2007 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2007 from 1 – 3 p.m.

Westport announces Veterans Day Services
The Town of Westport will hold Veterans Day services on Tuesday, Nov. 11 in the Town Hall auditorium. At 10:30 a.m. the Westport Community Band, under the direction of Sal LaRusso, will present a “Patriotic Salute to All Veterans” program which will include marches and patriot tunes. The services will begin at 11 a.m.

Special Office Hours on Saturday, Nov. 1 for Absentee Voters
There will be special office hours this Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon to accommodate voters applying for an Absentee Ballot to vote in the Nov. 4 State Election. Absentee ballots are available at the Town Clerk’s office daily, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

P&Z Commission to Hear Two New Text Amendments at Oct. 16 Meeting
The P&Z Commission will review two amendments to the Zoning Regulations. One proposed amendment extends the moratorium on Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Producers; the other proposed amendment concerns traffic impact studies.

Historic District Commission Announces 2014 Historic Preservation Awards
The Westport Historic District Commission has selected seven recipients of the 2014 Historic Preservation Awards. The awards will be presented on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium by First Selectman James S. Marpe.
