Traffic Advisory – CT United Ride 9/11/2016
This Sunday, Sept.11, the CT United Ride will travel through eleven area towns including Westport to pay tribute to the victims and first responders of the terrorist attacks on the United States on the 15th anniversary of 9/11. Motorists should anticipate extended traffic delays along the procession’s route.

The Career Coach Returns on Sept. 15 with Social Networking Classes for Job Search
The Coach will offer a class in Social Networking for Job Search from 10 a.m. – noon, and from 1 – 3 p.m. This course will focus on the increasing necessity for an online presence to be a credible employment candidate in the current hiring environment.

ConnDOT Reminds Residents to "Subtract the Distraction"
The Police Department, along with the ConnDOT Highway Safety Office, has announced the continuation of the “U DRIVE. U TEXT. U PAY.” initiative, an effort to crackdown on motorists who choose to text, talk or otherwise distract themselves from the task of driving by using a hand-held mobile device.

Police Issue Weekend Parking Advisory
The Westport Fine Arts Festival is taking place this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Parker Harding Plaza will be completely closed to traffic and parking from 2 p.m. on Friday July 15 to 7 p.m. on Sunday July 17.

Police Issue Traffic Advisory for Fireworks on Thursday
The annual PAL fireworks display is set for Thursday June 30 with a rain date of Friday July 1. This is a well-attended event that features heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic affecting all roads south of Greens Farms Road between South Compo Road and Hillspoint Road.

OPEN HOUSE Fundraising Campaign for Toquet Hall Scheduled for Saturday, June 18 from 2 - 6 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to an Open House at Toquet Hall Teen Center on Saturday, June 18 from 2 - 6 p.m. The Open House will support a fundraising campaign for much needed improvements to Westport’s only teen center.

"We expect moderate coastal flooding with this storm and want you to be prepared. A coastal flood advisory has been issued for our area by the National Weather Service. We are recommending that vehicles in flood prone areas move to higher ground before it gets dark."

Holiday Giving Program Seeks Donations
The Department of Human Services will again sponsor its annual Holiday Giving Program for Westport residents. The Human Services Department serves largely as a facilitator, allowing Westport residents who wish to give to do so, while protecting the confidentiality of both the donor and receiver.
