  • 2018 Fireworks Traffic Advisory - Pre and Post Show

    PRE-SHOW Heavy vehicular & pedestrian traffic will affect all roads south of Greens Farms Rd. between S. Compo Rd. & Hillspoint Rd. The beach should reopen to ticket holders by approximately 5 p.m. POST-SHOW Near the conclusion of the fireworks two-way traffic will be suspended on Compo Beach Rd. & S. Compo Rd. to the intersection of Greens Farms Rd. There will be two lanes of northbound traffic on these streets until the beach is cleared.

  • Stay Safe, Westport!

    FIREWORKS are illegal in the State of Connecticut, with the exception of sparklers and fountains. Novelty items such as party poppers, snakes, smoke devices and anything that emits a flame are not legal in Connecticut. SKY LANTERNS, or Konming lanterns are also prohibited in Connecticut. The flaming lantern can travel over long distances and drop onto rooftops, fields, trees and power lines before the flame is fully extinguished.

  • Decisions Likely for Medical Marijuana Dispensary, 500 Main St. Development-P&Z Meeting 7p.m., Thursday June 14

    Planning and Zoning Director Mary Young announced today that decisions will likely be rendered by the Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Commission tomorrow evening on applications to locate medical marijuana dispensary facilities in town. Residents are reminded that the public hearings have been closed, so no public testimony may be received. It is a public meeting and will be televised on Channel 79 (Cablevision), Channel 6020 (Frontier) and available by videostream at www.westportct.gov tomorrow, June 14 at 7p.m.

    Enrolled party members have only seven days left to transfer enrollment from one party to another in order to cast a ballot in their “new” party’s statewide primary, Connecticut Secretary of the State Denise Merrill said on May 7.

    The Westport Tree Board will celebrate Arbor Day and Green Day with two events. On Westport Arbor Day,, April 28, sapling trees will be distributed in front of Town Hall from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. Additional saplings will be distributed on Westport Green Day, Saturday April 28, in conjunction with festivities at Earthplace.

  • The Career Coach Will Offer 2013 Microsoft Excel Classes in Westport on Thursday, Feb. 8

    The Career Coach is coming to Town Hall. On Thursday, February 8 the Coach will offer a beginner’s class in Microsoft Excel 2013 from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an intermediate class in Excel 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.

    The HDC has selected the recipients of the 2017 Historic Preservation Awards. The awards will be presented by First Selectman Jim Marpe, Historic District Commission Chair Francis Henkels, and members of the Historic District Commission at a ceremony on Monday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall Auditorium.
