WESTPORT CONSERVATION COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
JUNE 18, 2014
Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Westport Conservation Commission pursuant to the Connecticut Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act, and the Regulations for the Protection and Preservation of Inland Wetlands and Watercourses of the Town of Westport (IWW Regulations) to be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Room 201/201A at 7:00 p.m. of the Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue. The Commission shall meet to take such action under the purview of the Town’s IWW Regulations and the Waterway Protection Line Ordinance as the meeting may determine with regard to the following:
Changes or Additions to the Agenda. The Commission may amend the agenda by a 2/3 vote to include items not requiring a Public Hearing.
Work Session I: 7:00 pm Room 201/201A (The work session is not a public hearing. The public is invited to attend but may not speak.) The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. A public hearing will not be opened at this time for the following applications:
1. Receipt of Applications
2. Report by Colin Kelly, Conservation Compliance Officer on the status of existing enforcement activity.
3. 47 Woodside Avenue: Request for release of remaining bond funds held as a condition of Permit #IWW, WPL-8793-11 for plantings.
4. Approval of May 21, 2014 meeting minutes.
5. Other Business
Public Hearing: 7:15 pm, Room 201/201A The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. If applications are determined to be complete the Commission will proceed by opening the hearing. (At this time interested parties may be heard after being recognized by the Chairman. Written communication may be received for all applications until the public hearing is closed.) Applications and plans may be examined in the Conservation Department, Room 205, Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue, during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
1. 1135 Post Road East: Application #IWW,WPL-9761-14 by David Ginter of Redniss & Mead on behalf of Coastal Construction Group for the razing of one existing structure and partial razing of another and the construction of a two-story commercial building, surface parking, drive, walks in southern portion of the property. The existing landscaping uses in the northern portion of the site are to remain. Portions of the site are within the upland review area setback and the WPLO area of Muddy Brook.
2. 28 Harbor Road: Application #WPL-9787-14 by Land-Tech Consultants on behalf of Stephen Nelson and Mary Mayo to replace the existing two-story house, deck and patio with a new two-story FEMA compliant house, regrade the property and install a vegetative buffer upgradient of the tidal wetland. Work is within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
3. 10 Pond Edge Road: Application #IWW,WPL-9789-14 by Richard Benson of RB Benson & Co. for demolition of an existing house, construction of a new single family residence with new foundation essentially over the same footprint and expansion over driveway. Portions of the work are within the 50 ft. upland review area and the WPLO area of the Sherwood Mill Pond.
4. 333 & 335 Post Road West: Continuation of Application #IWW,WPL-9763-14 by Barr Associates, LLC on behalf of 333 Post Rd. W., LLC for the demolition of 3 buildings on 335 Post Road West, the merger of two lots, construction of surface parking on 335 Post Road West with drainage and landscaping improvements and associated site improvements. Portions of the work are within the upland review area and the WPLO area of an unnamed wetland.

1. Other business.
The Commission may not open new business on the agenda after 11:00 p.m. at the discretion of the Chairman. This includes applications scheduled for public hearings. Items shall be continued or rescheduled to a later date as necessary.
