LISTED BELOW ARE THE POLICIES AND PROCEDURES RELATIVE TO THE OPERATION OF NED DIMES MARINA (COMPO) AND THE E. R. STRAIT MARINA (LONGSHORE)
DRYSTALL MARINA ASSIGNMENTS
HOURS OF OPERATION AT DRYSTALL MARINA
Mon – Sun and Holidays
- May 1 to Sept. 30 - 7:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
- Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 daylight hours

Compo Beach - Bona fide Beach Emblem holders are the only persons allowed rent a drystall at either town marina.
Longshore - Westport residents have first priority on drystalls then available to anyone on waiting list. -
The maximum allowable boat length for assignments is:
Trailer – 16ft. and under
Hobbie – 18ft. and under
Dollies – n/a
Rack – 16ft. and under -
Drystall Assignments Decal (s) - The decal for your boat will mailed to you by May 1.
Any vessel stored prior to May 1 will be removed and may be auctioned off. All vessels entering the beach must have decal attached to proper location. -
The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to change drystall assignments for any reason whatsoever. Any boat that is not in its proper location may be moved and the owner may lose town marina drystall privileges.

Boat owners are responsible for damage done to adjacent boats on town facilities.

Slip holders must maintain their vessels in a sound and seaworthy condition. The Parks and Recreation Department may withhold or withdraw drystall space for any occupant whose vessel is considered in the opinion of the Dockmaster to be unsound structurally or mechanically, in danger of sinking or hazardous to town facilities.

Owners who sell boats during the boating season must make notification of the sale within ten (10) days of the sale. The use of a drystall does not go with the sale of the boat, even for the remainder of the season.

Any boater wishing to use someone else’s assigned space must first get permission from the Dockmaster. Boaters MAY NOT give permission to another boater to use the space assigned to him/her. All requests MUST have written permission of the Dockmaster.

Drystall holders who vacate their drystalls for weekend or extended vacation must notify the Dockmaster of the days they will be absent.
USE OF THE FACILITIES -
The period of berthing shall be from May 1 to Nov. 30. All boats must be removed from Town marinas and property by Nov. 30. Any dry stall vessel remaining after Nov 30 could be charged a $100 per day storage fee until the boat is removed. Dry stall vessels remaining after Dec. 30 will be considered abandoned and will be removed from their dry stall at the cost of not less than $25 plus incurring a daily storage fee. After 60 days each boat will be auctioned off in accordance with state statutes.

All vehicles entering Compo Beach to use the drystall facilities MUST have a Westport Vehicle Parking Emblem. Boaters will not be allowed in the beach/marina area without an emblem and MUST pay the prevailing daily fee and launch fee.

The E.R. Strait Marina will be used as an area for drystall usage parking available in Emblem Lot “D” & “E” non emblem vehicles MUST park in Lot “F”.

All Drystall vessels MUST be properly tied down at their assigned location.

Advertising signs shall not be displayed from vessels, or land areas adjacent to town marinas.

All waste or recyclable materials are to be placed in appropriate trash receptacles.

Sailing is prohibited in Town Marinas.

Any drystall assignee whose space is still vacant as of June 15 of each year must contact the Administrative Manager at the Parks and Recreation Office in writing as to why it is still vacant. If no response is received by June 30, the drystall may be reassigned from the waiting list.

The Town of Westport is not responsible for theft, vandalism or damage to any vessel on town property.
Property owners are responsible for securing their vessel.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ASSIGNMENTS ARE NOT FINAL. THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE ANY CURRENT BOATING ASSIGNMENT.
SUSPENSION OF BOATING PRIVILEGES, FINE, AND/OR ARREST MAY BE IMPOSED FOR THE VIOLATION OF POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.
