Ice Skating Instructors work at Longshore Ice Rink providing ice skating instruction to youth and adults. Applicants must be available to work from December 3, 2024 through February 15, 2025 and be a minimum of 16 years of age. A Learn to Skate USA Instructor certification is preferred and highly suggested.
Qualifications
- Instructing youth, and adult learn to skate classes based on the Learn to Skate USA Curriculum in a fun and creative way
- Assist head coach in evaluating new and existing athletes
- Ensure skating class is well organized and utilizes proper skating techniques
- Assist with program set up which includes helping athletes tie their skates, taking attendance, bringing out the equipment, etc
- Effectively communicates with parents
- Must be able to demonstrate, teach and evaluate the items listed in the USFSA Basic Skills curriculum.
- Applicants must be willing to work evenings, and/or weekends
Experience:
- USFSA Learn to Skate Certification (required)
- Sports Coaching: 1 year (preferred)
- Ice Skating (any form): 1 year (preferred)
- CPR/AED Certification: Preferred
