WESTPORT CONSERVATION COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
NOVEMBER 19, 2014
Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Westport Conservation Commission pursuant to the Connecticut Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act, and the Regulations for the Protection and Preservation of Inland Wetlands and Watercourses of the Town of Westport (IWW Regulations) to be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in Room 201/201A at 7:00 p.m. of the Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue. The Commission shall meet to take such action under the purview of the Town’s IWW Regulations and the Waterway Protection Line Ordinance as the meeting may determine with regard to the following:
Changes or Additions to the Agenda: The Commission may amend the agenda by a 2/3 vote to include items not requiring a Public Hearing.
Work Session I: 7:00 pm, Room 201/201A (The work session is not a public hearing. The public is invited to attend but may not speak.)
1.Receipt of Applications The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completeness. A public hearing will not be opened at this time for the following applications:
- Report by Colin Kelly, Conservation Compliance Officer on the status of existing enforcement activity.
- Approval of September 17, 2014 meeting minutes.
- Approval of October 9, 2014 field trip minutes.
- Approval of October 15, 2014 meeting minutes.
- Other Business
Public Hearing: 7:15 pm, Room 201/201A The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. If applications are determined to be complete the Commission will proceed by opening the hearing. (At this time interested parties may be heard after being recognized by the Chairman. Written communication may be received for all applications until the public hearing is closed.) Applications and plans may be examined in the Conservation Department, Room 205, Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue, during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
- 1595 Post Road East: Application #IWW/M-9891-14 1595 Post Equities LLC to amend wetland boundary map #H9.
- 5 Sea Spray: Application #WPL-9894-14 by Land-Tech Consultants on behalf of Sea Spray Acquisitions, LLC to remove a portion of a shed and construct a 398 s.f. addition on the northern side of the house. Portions of the work are within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
- 34 Owenoke Park: Application #WPL-9893-14 by Frangione Engineering, LLC on behalf of 34 Ownenoke Park, LLC for a proposed single family residence, pool, patio, driveway, walkway and associated drainage design. Proposed house will be connected to existing sanitary sewer lateral. Work is within the WPLO area of Gray’s Creek.
- 24-26 Owenoke Park: Continued Application - Application #WPL-9859-14 by Barr Associates LLC on behalf of Keith Melnick & Mary Kathryn Melnick for a proposed new residence, pool, patio, cabana & gym on a consolidated lot with a new driveway and drainage. Work is within the WPLO area of Gray’s Creek.
- 14 Promised Road: Application #WPL-9897-14 by Lucien & Maria Vita for the demolition of the existing home and the construction of a new single family residence and associated site improvements. Work is within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
- 1135 Post Road East: IWW,WPL-9895-14 by Redniss & Mead on behalf of 1135 Post Road East, LLC for the proposed razing of the existing structures and constructing two, two-story commercial buildings, surface parking, driveways and walkways in the southern portion of the property. Four residential buildings with underground parking garage will be constructed in the northern portion of the property. Work is within the WPLO area of Muddy Brook.

- Other business.
The Commission may not open new business on the agenda after 11:00 p.m. at the discretion of the Chairman. This includes applications scheduled for public hearings. Items shall be continued or rescheduled to a later date as necessary.
