Westport Historic District Commission
Work Session and Public Hearing Notice and Agenda
September 9, 2014
The Westport Historic District Commission will hold a work session at 6:30 p.m. and a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Town Hall, Room 309, for the following purposes:
WORK SESSION
- To hear a pre-application for proposed modifications at 96 Kings Highway North located in the Kings Highway North Historic District.
PUBLIC HEARING
- To review a request to include the following properties within the boundary of the proposed Maplewood Avenue Local Historic District: 439 Main Street, One Maplewood Avenue, 3 Maplewood Avenue, 5 Maplewood Avenue, 7 Maplewood Avenue, 10 Maplewood Avenue, 11 Maplewood Avenue, 12 Maplewood Avenue, 14 Maplewood Avenue, 15 Maplewood Avenue, 16 Maplewood Avenue, 19 Maplewood Avenue, 20 Maplewood Avenue, 21 Maplewood Avenue, 22 Maplewood Avenue, 23 Maplewood Avenue, 24 Maplewood Avenue, 25 Maplewood Avenue, 28 Maplewood Avenue, 29 Maplewood Avenue, 30 Maplewood Avenue, 32 Maplewood Avenue and to accept the study report reviewed by the State Historic preservation Council and the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission.
- To hear Chairman’s report and update on current HDC activities.
- To approve the minutes of the August 12, 2014 public hearing.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application dated August 25, 2014 for the proposed installation of a combination stone wall and picket fence at 63 Kings Highway North, located in the Kings Highway North Historic District.
- To hear a request from a resident to consider options for the preservation of historic stone walls.
- *To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 14 Peaceful Lane.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 40 Burr Farms Road.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 7 Peach Lot Lane.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 5 Horseshoe Lane.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 191 Wilton Road.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 33 Sherwood Drive.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 5 Fragrant Pines Court.
- To discuss possible nominations for the upcoming 2014 Annual Preservation Awards to be announced in the fall.
