Conservation Commission Field Trip Notice

 CONSERVATION COMMISSION

  FIELD TRIP NOTICE

 

The Westport Conservation Commission will conduct a site visit for orientation purposes on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 9:15 am in preparation for reviewing agenda items at its June 18, 2014 meeting.


  1. 28 Harbor Rd.: Application #WPL-9787-14 by Land-Tech Consultants on behalf of Stephen Nelson and Mary Mayo to replace the existing two-story house, deck and patio with a new two-story FEMA compliant house, regrade the property with new fill and install a vegetative buffer up-gradient of the tidal wetland. Work is with thin WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.

  1. 10 Pond Edge Rd.: Application #IWW, WPL-9789-14 by Richard Benson of RB Benson&Co for demolition of an existing house, construction of a new single family residence with new foundation essentially over the same footprint and expansion over driveway. Portions of the work are within the 50 ft upland review area and the WPLO area of the Sherwood Mill Pond.


  1. 1135 Post Road East: Application #IWW,WPL-9761-14 by David Ginter of Redniss & Mead on behalf of Coastal Construction Group for the razing of one existing structure and partial razing of another and the construction of a two-story commercial building, surface parking, drive, walks in southern portion of the property. The existing landscaping uses in the northern portion of the site are to remain. Portions of the site are within the upland review area setback and the WPLO area of Muddy Brook.


Members will meet at the Conservation Department first to carpool. Some sites might be especially wet and or be prone to ticks so appropriate clothing and footwear is recommended.
