The Board of Selectmen and Water Pollution Control Authority meeting schedule is posted to the town's web calendar each February for the following 12 months.  See below for proposed standing meeting dates which are subject to change.  Consult the calendar as the meeting date approaches for agenda and updates.

Notice & Agenda 

Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectwomen, Traffic Authority, and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, Connecticut. The regular meeting will be livestreamed on www.westportct.gov and broadcast on Westport’s Optimum Government Access Channel 79. Comments from the public regarding agenda items may be sent to selectwoman@westportct.gov prior to the meeting. Agenda to include but not be limited to the following items (subject to revision):

 

  1. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectwomen’s meeting of September 27, 2023.

     

  2. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request for the use of the Town property known as Imperial Avenue Parking Lot on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 9:00 AM (set up) to 2:00 PM (breakdown) for the Landmark Pre-School “Trunk-or-Treat” event, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from relevant Town departments and in accordance with the Policy for the Use of Town Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.

     

  3. To take such action as the meeting may determine, in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town, to approve the acceptance of a donation in the amount of $300,000 from the Estate of Irma Klein Schachter to the Westport Center for Senior Activities Fund, and further, to recommend acceptance by the Representative Town Meeting.

     

  4. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the following items in connection with the Town's acceptance of a $1.2 million grant from the Connecticut Department of Housing under the federal CDBG-CV grant program for the rehabilitation of the Gillespie Center:

     

      a. Assistance Agreement with the State of Connecticut

      b. Addendum to the Assistance Agreement

      c. Local Assurances

      d. Use Restriction

      e. Certified Grant Resolution

     

  5. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Tax Collector and in accordance with C.G.S. Sec. 12-129, to approve the refunds of overpayments of taxes, as presented.

     

  6. Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to establish NO PARKING and install appropriate signage on the EAST side of the Town roadway known as Rayfield Road from Post Road East (US Rte. 1) to its intersection at Spicer Road. 

     

  7. Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to establish NO PARKING and install appropriate signage on both sides of the Town roadway known as Church Street South from Post Road East (US Rte. 1) to and including its intersection at the rear driveway of 785 Post Road East.

     

  8. Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to replace the YIELD sign at the intersection of the Town roadways known as Thomas Road and Imperial Avenue with a STOP sign and install associated MUTCD signage. 

     

  9. Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Police Department, to temporarily install STOP signs on the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Town roadway known as Greens Farms Road at its intersection with New Creek Road. 

     

  10. Acting as the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA), to approve the supplemental sanitary sewer connection at 57, 79 & 85 Post Road West (known collectively as #85 Post Road West), contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Collection System Supervisor’s letter of September 29, 2023. 

     

  11. Acting as the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA), to approve the supplemental sanitary sewer connection at #15 Sunrise Road, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Collection System Supervisor’s letter of September 29, 2023.
