NOTICE AND AGENDA OF BOARD OF FINANCE MEETING
SPECIAL NOTICE ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR THIS MEETING:
This meeting will be held in-person IN THE town hall auditorium. Town Hall access will be through the front of the building. The meeting will also be live streamed on the Town Website westportct.gov (on the website, select “How Do I” Heading, and select “Watch Town Meetings”) and shown on Optimum Government Access Channel 79 and Frontier Channel 6020. Comments to be read during the public comment period may be emailed to BOFcomments@westportct.gov. We will use our best efforts to read public comments aloud if they are received during the public comment period and if they state your full name and address. In-person public comments are also allowed during the public comment period. Meeting materials will be available at westportct.gov along with the meeting notice posted on the Meeting List & Calendar page.
The Board of Finance will hold its Public Meeting on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. IN PERSON IN THE TOWN HALL AUDITORIUM for the following purposes:
AGENDA
- To approve the Board of Finance Minutes of the March 2, 2022, March 10, 2022, March 29, 2022 and March 31, 2022 Regular Meetings and the March 7, 2022 and March 16, 2022 Special Meetings.
- Financial Report from the Finance Director. (Discussion Only)
- Status Update from the Audit Manager. (Discussion Only)
- Upon the request of the Westport Historic District Commission, to approve an appropriation of $20,000.00 to the Historic District Fees & Services Account 10101181-531000 for the purpose of accepting funding in the amount of $20,000.00 from the State Historic Preservation Office. The funds will be used to hire a Preservation Specialist.
- Upon the request of the Westport Historic District Commission, to approve an appropriation of $30,000.00 to the Historic District Fees & Services Account 10101181-531000 for the purpose of accepting funding in the amount of $30,000.00 from the State Historic Preservation Office. The funds will be used to hire an Architectural Historian to update Inventory Forms.
- Continued review and approval of the Board of Education Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 presented by Superintendent Thomas Scarice and BOE Chair Lee Goldstein.
- To review and approve the Director of Public Works request for $400,000.00 from Westport’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for planning, design, and permitting of the redevelopment of Parker Harding Plaza, Jesup Green, and the Imperial Lot.
- Upon the request of the Director of Public Works, to approve an appropriation of $232,000.00 along with bond and note authorization to the Municipal Improvement Fund Account 30503330-500354-10127 for the design and permitting of the replacement of the Hillandale Road Bridge over Muddy Brook.
- Upon the request of the Director of Public Works, to approve a Special Appropriation in the amount of $852,000.00 along with bond and note authorization to the Municipal Improvement Fund Account 30506650-500344-10114 for asphalt paving projects at Bedford Middle School and Staples High School.
- The Board will consider any requests for restoration of sums removed from the Budget by the Board at its March 29, 2022, and March 31, 2022, Budget Hearings.
The Board will approve the “BOF Recommended Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023” as follows:
a. General Fund
b. Wakeman Farm
c. Railroad Parking Fund
d. Sewer Fund
