WESTPORT CONSERVATION COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
DECEMBER 12, 2012
Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Westport Conservation Commission pursuant to the Connecticut Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act, and the Regulations for the Protection and Preservation of Inland Wetlands and Watercourses of the Town of Westport (IWW Regulations) to be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 7:00 pm in Room 201/201A of the Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue. The Commission shall meet to take such action under the purview of the Town’s IWW Regulations and the Waterway Protection Line Ordinance as the meeting may determine with regard to the following:
Work Session I: 7:00 pm, Room 201/201A (The work session is not a public hearing. The public is invited to attend but may not speak.) The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. A public hearing will not be opened at this time for the following applications:
- Receipt of Applications
- Report by Colin Kelly, Conservation Compliance Officer on the status of existing enforcement activity.
- 22 Evergreen Avenue: Request for bond release for monies being held for plantings as required as a condition of Permit #IWW,WPL-6631-01.
- 29A Sturges Commons: Request for bond release for monies being held for plantings and sediment and erosion controls as required as a condition of Permit #IWW,WPL/E-8838-11.
- 84 Wilton Rd: Request for bond release for monies being held for plantings as required as a condition of Permit #WPL-8528-09.
- Other Business
Public Hearing: Room 201/201A, 7:15 p.m. The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. If applications are determined to be complete the Commission will proceed by opening the hearing. (At this time interested parties may be heard after being recognized by the Chairman. Written communication may be received for all applications until the public hearing is closed.) Applications and plans may be examined in the Conservation Department, Room 205, Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue, during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
- 48 Owenoke Park: Application #WPL-9219-12 by Wilson L & David B McKane to install an 8’ by 8’ float, a 25’ by 3’ ramp with a 4’ by 10’ fixed pier. Work is within the 25 year floodplain and the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
- CONTINUED APPLICATION – 59 Post Road East (#2) and 35 Church Lane (#1): Application #WPL-9218-12 by Karen Johnson, AICP for Bedford Square Associates, LLC on behalf of the YMCA of Westport/Weston CT, Inc. and Bedford Square Associates, LLC for redevelopment of the properties to include the repurposing of historical portions of 59 Post Road East, demolitions of portions of the non-historic additions of 59 Post Road East, removal of wood frame structures on 35 Church Lane and the construction of below-grade parking, the replacement and addition to 59 Post Road East and new construction on 35 Church Lane with associated site improvements including utilities, drainage, grading, streetscape and landscaping. Portions of the work are within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
Work Session II: Immediately following the public hearing.(The work session is not a public hearing. The public is invited to attend but may not speak.)
- Approval of October 17, 2012 meeting minutes.
- Approval of November 13, 2012 field trip minutes
- Approval of November 14, 2012 meeting minutes
- Other business.
The Commission may not open new business on the agenda after 11:00 p.m. at the discretion of the Chairman. This includes applications scheduled for public hearings. Items shall be continued or rescheduled to a later date as necessary.
