WESTPORT CONSERVATION COMMISSION
SPECIAL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 25, 2018
Notice is hereby given of a Special Meeting of the Westport Conservation Commission pursuant to the Connecticut Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act, and the Regulations for the Protection and Preservation of Inland Wetlands and Watercourses of the Town of Westport (IWW Regulations) to be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in the Room 201/201A at 7:00 p.m. of the Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue. The Commission shall meet to take such action under the purview of the Town’s IWW Regulations and the Waterway Protection Line Ordinance as the meeting may determine with regard to the following:
Work Session I: 7:00 p.m., Room 201/201A (The work session is not a public hearing. The public is invited to attend but may not speak.) The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. A public hearing will not be opened at this time for the following applications:
1.Approval of September 7, 2018 field trip minutes.
2.243 Sturges Highway: Request by Achilles Architects on behalf of Victoria Gouletas for issuance of a staff-level permit for a new deck and building additions within the 30 ft. and 50 ft. upland review areas and WPLO area of Deadman’s Brook.
3.61 Kings Hwy South: Request by MLR Properties on behalf of George and Shannon Vindiola to modify the location of the pool approved pursuant to #IWW,WPL-10389-17.
4.1 Glendinning Place: Request by Bridgewater Associates for issuance of a staff-level permit for two storage sheds measuring approximately 250 sq.ft. with an overhead roof canopy within an existing paved area. The work is outside the WPLO area but within the 75 ft. upland review area.
5.2 Pierway Landing: Request by Colin Ambrose to modify condition 16 and eliminate conditions 19 and 23 of Resolution #WPL-9657-13 for an in-ground pool, patio and deck expansion.
Public Hearing: 7:20 p.m., Room 201/201A. The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. If applications are determined to be complete the Commission will proceed by opening the hearing. (At this time interested parties may be heard after being recognized by the Chairman. Written communication may be received for all applications until the public hearing is closed.) Applications and plans may be examined in the Conservation Department, Room 205, Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue, during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
1.25 Oak Ridge Park: Application #WPL-10650-18 by Barr Associates on behalf of Debra Kowalsky to maintain the existing dock, pool, pool patio and storage garage; remove the existing shed and deck and construct a new single family residence with driveway, pool equipment pad and associated site appurtenances. Work is within the WPL area of the Saugatuck River.
2.9 Fresenius Road: Application #IWW,WPL/E-10662-18 by Alison Danzberger on behalf of James & Leslie Kickham for the partial demolition of an existing house and to construct a new home over the existing slab. Portion of the work is within the upland review area.
3.28, 36, 38, 39, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 47, Parcel A05 Lot 4 and Parcel A05 Lot 5 Hiawatha Lane: Continued Application #IWW-10619-18 and WPL-10659-18 by Summit Saugatuck LLC on behalf of Saugatuck Summit LLC, Anne M. Mantia, Estate of Crystal Christensen, Hannelore Walsh, Frank P Bottone and David H Ogilvy for a proposed 187-unit multi-family rental development presented in five buildings with associated site improvements.
4.16 Fresenius Road: Application #AA,WPL/E-10637-18 by Barr Associates LLC on behalf of Patricia C Davis for a proposed 3-lot subdivision with site regrading for Lots A, B and C and an Open Space Parcel.
The Commission may not open new business on the agenda after 10:00 p.m. at the discretion of the Chairman. This includes applications scheduled for public hearings. Items shall be continued or rescheduled to a later date as necessary.
