LEGAL NOTICE AND AGENDA
WESTPORT CONSERVATION COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
NOVEMBER 15, 2017
Notice is hereby given of a meeting of the Westport Conservation Commission pursuant to the Connecticut Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Act, and the Regulations for the Protection and Preservation of Inland Wetlands and Watercourses of the Town of Westport (IWW Regulations) to be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in Room 201/201A at 7:00 p.m. of the Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue. The Commission shall meet to take such action under the purview of the Town’s IWW Regulations and the Waterway Protection Line Ordinance as the meeting may determine with regard to the following:
Changes or Additions to the Agenda. The Commission may amend the agenda by a 2/3 vote to include items not requiring a Public Hearing.
Work Session I: 7:00 p.m., Room 201/201A (The work session is not a public hearing. The public is invited to attend but may not speak.)
- Receipt of Applications The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. A public hearing will not be opened at this time for the following applications:
- Report by Colin Kelly, Conservation Compliance Officer on the status of existing enforcement activity.
- 241 Bayberry Lane: Request for modification of IWW,WPL/E-10478-17 for an expanded addition to the front entry, removal of an existing second floor front cantilevered overhang, a cantilevered expansion of the pantry/bar area, and an expanded rear kitchen area addition.
- 3 North Ridge Road: Request by A. D. Ialeggio Associates on behalf of Sherri B. and Barry Raifaisen, to modify Permit #IWW, WPL-10380-17 for a pool, patio and retaining walls by proposing an alternate design that substitutes the retaining walls for planting terraces and locates the pool and patio further from the wetland and WPLO area.
- 1 Yankee Hill Road: Request for bond release being held for sediment and erosion controls and plantings as a condition of approval for Permit #WPL-10015-15.
- 42 Burnham Hill Road: Request for bond release being held for plantings as a condition of approval for Permit #IWW,WPL/E-10276-16.
- 34 Owenoke Park: Request by Signature Pools on behalf of Adam and Melanie D. Smith to amend Permit #WPL-9893-14 for a pool to now include a spa and larger patio.
- Approval of October 11, 2017 Special meeting minutes.
- Approval of October 18, 2017 meeting minutes.
10. Other Business
Public Hearing: Room 201/201A. 7:30 p.m. The following applications will be “received” by the Conservation Commission subject to determination of completion. If applications are determined to be complete the Commission will proceed by opening the hearing. (At this time interested parties may be heard after being recognized by the Chairman. Written communication may be received for all applications until the public hearing is closed.) Applications and plans may be examined in the Conservation Department, Room 205, Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue, during regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
- 9 Riverview Road: Application #WPL-10492-17 by Redniss & Mead Inc. on behalf of Jess I Redniss & Andrea Kerr Redniss for the replacement of a deteriorating existing fixed pier, T-head, gangway and floating docks. Work is within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
- 54 Wilton Road: Continuation of Application #WPL-10482-17 by William J Fitzpatrick on behalf of STC Green, LLC for site improvements accompanying renovation of southerly portion of existing building, demolition of northerly portion of existing building and construction of residential housing. Work is within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
- 793 Post Road East: Continuation of Application #IWW,WPL-10502-17 by Barr Associates on behalf of DMC Westport LLC for 14 townhouses plus 2 mixed use building for commercial and multi-family units with parking, drainage, landscaping and related site improvements. Portions of the work are within the WPLO area and the upland review area of an unnamed watercourse.
Work Session II: (The work session is not a public hearing. The public is invited to attend but may not speak.)
- Other business.
The Commission may not open new business on the agenda after 11:00 p.m. at the discretion of the Chairman. This includes applications scheduled for public hearings. Items shall be continued or rescheduled to a later date as necessary.
