Conservation Commission Field Trip Notice

CONSERVATION COMMISSION
  FIELD TRIP NOTICE


The Westport Conservation Commission will conduct a site visit for orientation purposes to the following properties on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in preparation for reviewing agenda items at its 
October 19, 2016 meeting: 
1. 115 Harbor Road:  Application #WPL-10288-16 by Land-Tech Consultants on behalf of L. Adele Weitzman to construct a private dock, reorientation of stairs to accommodate the new dock, and install a four-inch cap on the top of the existing stonewall. Work is within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River.
2. 126 Harbor Road:  WPL-10292-16 by Rich Kordas on behalf of 126 Harbor Rd. LLC to construct a pool. Portions of the work are within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River. 
3. 20 Jesup Road:  Application #WPL-10291-16 by Redniss & Mead Inc. on behalf of Town of Westport/Police Station & Library for interior renovations, to install a new entrance on the north side of the building with new stair access and handicap accessible sidewalks, additional improvements include new entrance terraces to the west and south of the building. Portions of the work are within the WPLO area of the Saugatuck River. 
4. 27 Darbrook Road:  Application #IWW,WPL-10271-16 by Land-Tech Consultants on behalf of Robert & Jennifer Bowman to construct a 43’ x 61’ sports court and temporary wetland crossing with associated stormwater drainage system. Portions of the work are in the upland review area and the WPLO area of a tributary of Deadman’s Brook.


Members will meet at the Conservation Department first to carpool. Some sites might be especially wet and or be prone to ticks so appropriate clothing and footwear is recommended.
