The Fairfield County Regional Dispatch Center (FCRD), located on the campus of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, serves as the 911 call hub for both Westport and Fairfield. This center operates as a collaboration with the Town of Westport to enhance public safety responses across both towns.

Handling over 300,000 public calls annually, the FCRD employs highly trained Emergency Telecommunicators who often serve as the first point of contact during emergencies. These professionals are certified to deliver pre-arrival medical instructions and are available 24/7.
