The Sherwood Mill Pond Committee was appointed by First Selectwoman Diane Goss Farrell in 2004. The charge of the Committee is to act in an advisory capacity to the various land use bodies office on issues related to Sherwood Mill Pond. The Committee meets on the last Thursday of every other month. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

The pond is one of Westport's great natural assets. It covers over 80 acres and provides facilities for recreation, education and space for the sheer enjoyment of its unspoiled surroundings. It comprises over 1% of the total area of the town, is home to over 70 species of birds, and is an integral and unique part of the town's landscape.

Committee members may be reached by contacting the Conservation Department at Town Hall.
