Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 307/309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):


1. To approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of September 24, 2015 and the Water Pollution Control Authority’s public hearing of September 24, 2015.


2. To take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the closure of Main Street from Post Road to Avery Place on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the Downtown Merchants Association Holiday Kick-Off activities, contingent upon compliance with comments from various Town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.


3. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a waiver of the Town Policy on Encroachments as it relates to retaining wall(s), belgian block paving and a stairway located at property known as 26 Sterling Drive, contingent upon compliance with the Town Engineer’s letter of September 15, 2015.


4. To take such action as the meeting may determine to accept a FEMA Assistance to Firefighter Grant (AFG) in the amount of $16,291.00 to be utilized for replacement fire attack hoses and nozzles on front line fire apparatus.


5. To take such action as the meeting may determine to accept a donation in the amount of $5,000 from the Fairfield Half Marathon to purchase additional hoses and nozzles for reserve fire apparatus, in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town.


6. Acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Westport Police Department, to request permission from the State of Connecticut  Department of Transportation (CT DOT) to extend the current “No Parking” zone on the west side of Riverside Avenue (CT Rte. 33) from its intersection at Sylvan Road South continuing approximately 380 feet north to the front parking lot exit of Saugatuck Elementary School (170 Riverside Avenue). 


7. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to approve the residential sanitary sewer connection request at property known as 126 Harbor Road, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Coordinator’s letter of September 30, 2015.


8. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to approve the residential sanitary sewer connection request at property known as 18 Sunrise Road, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Coordinator’s letter of October 6, 2015.
