Village District Steering Committee
National Register of Historic Places Nomination
A second public informational meeting of the Village District Steering Committee (VDSC) will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall Room 201/201A. The purpose of the meeting is to answer questions about a National Register of Historic Places Nomination for a proposed district in Westport Center prior to its upcoming consideration by the State Historic Preservation Review Board on September 21, 2015. A full presentation about the proposed nomination was held in December, 2014. Architectural historian Stephanie Dyer-Carroll of Fitzgerald and Halliday, Inc., a member of the Village District Study consulting team and Jenny Scofield, National and State Register Coordinator, State Historic Preservation Office will be available. Questions or comments from the general public are welcome. Support for the study was provided by a Vibrant Communities Initiative Grant from the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation with Community Investment Act funds administered by the State Historic Preservation Office.
