Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 307/309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):
1.To approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of May 27, 2015.
2.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Arts Advisory Committee, to accept the bequest of the Estate of Susan Malloy of the sculpture known as “Adam and Eve,” contingent upon approval by relevant Town bodies and in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town.
3.Acting as the Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the closure of Church Lane from Elm Street to Post Road East (Rte. 1) on Saturday, June 20, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Westport/Weston Chamber of Commerce and associated organizations’ “Painting the Wall” event, contingent upon compliance with comments from relevant Town departments, and in accordance with the Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.
4.To take such action as the meeting may determine to accept monetary gifts to the Town of Westport Police Department for the K9 Escrow Fund in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town.
5.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Director of Human Services, to accept the Neighbors Helping Neighbors Emergency Assistance grant allocation from the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County for the Department of Human Services Families in Need Escrow Fund in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town.
6.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Town Clerk, to approve the 2016 Historic Documents Preservation Grant application and to empower First Selectman James S. Marpe to execute and deliver in the name of and on behalf of the Town of Westport, a contract with the Connecticut State Library for an Historic Documents Preservation Grant.
7.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Finance Director, to approve the Actuarial Services Agreement between the Town of Westport and Milliman, Inc. as it relates to the continued engagement for actuarial services for the Town.
8.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Finance Director, to approve the Agreement between the Town of Westport and McGladrey, LLP as it relates to the continued engagement for auditing services for the Town.
9.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Personnel Director, to approve an EAP Renewal Agreement between the Town of Westport and ESI Employee Assistance Group for EAP Services for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.
10.To take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the renewal of the Employment Agreement between the Town of Westport and Michael Aitkenhead for the caretaking of Wakeman Town Farm and conducting and managing related programs.
11.To take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve a Maintenance Agreement between Jantech Services, Inc. and the Town of Westport for the maintenance and service of six (6) UPS located at the Westport Fire and Police Departments.
12.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, to approve the award of design contract to GM2 Associates as it relates to the FY 2014 DEMHS/FEMA Grant awarded for the replacement of the Saugatuck Bridge.
13.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, to approve the award of Bid No. 15-786T to Mark IV Construction, Inc. as it relates to Sanitary Sewer Contract #65 for the sanitary sewer extension construction at Bulkley Avenue North, Old Road, Mallard Lane, Elizabeth Drive, Forest Drive and Shadowlawn Drive.
14.Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve a proposed sewer use charge of $6.10 per hundred cubic feet, due and payable July 1, 2015, which shall be applicable to the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
