Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 309/307 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):
1.To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of March 12, 2014.
2.To take such action as the meeting may determine, in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town, to approve the acceptance of a monetary gift from the Katz Family Foundation, Inc. to the Town of Westport Police Department to cover the expense of a part-time position in the Animal Control Office.
3.To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Veteran’s Green on May 18, 2014 by Mishkan Israel Day Camp for its Annual Lag B’Omer Parade and Outing, contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways, as amended Sept. 15, 2010.
4.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Chair of the Historic District Commission, to approve a contract with architectural historian, David Taylor of Taylor & Taylor Associates, Inc. in the amount of $4,500 for the preparation of a study report and related Historic Inventory forms for the proposed local historic district designation at Maplewood Avenue.
5.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Finance Director, to approve a Consulting Services Agreement between the Town of Westport and Northeast Series of Lockton Companies, LLC in the amount of $55,000 for insurance consulting services.
6.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Co-chairs of the Baron’s South Committee, to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Town of Westport and Baron’s South Senior Housing, LLC for the development of the Baron’s South Property.
7.To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority and upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police, to rescind the 15 minute parking zone on the east and the west sides of Bay Street from Post Road East to the driveway of 180 Post Road East and 154 Post Road East and to approve a 60 minute parking zone at the same location.
8.To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority and upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Works and the RTM Sewer Extension Committee, to approve the revised Sewer Extension Policy.
9.To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority and in accordance with the Connecticut General Statutes, to determine final benefit assessments to be levied against properties that obtained supplemental sanitary sewer connection approval during 2013.
