The Westport Historic District Commission will hold a work session at 6:30 p.m. and a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in Town Hall Green Room for the following purposes:
WORK SESSION
- To review and comment on a pre-application for preliminary review of proposed plans for a studio at 46 Wright Street located in the Kings Highway North Historic District.
- To review and comment on a pre-application for preliminary review of proposed plans for a
Garage addition to the main house at 7 Washington Avenue located in the Gorham Avenue Historic District.
PUBLIC HEARING
- To elect Historic District Commission officers for the year 2014.
- To hear Chairman’s report and update on current HDC activities.
- To approve the minutes of the January 14, 2014 public hearing.
- To review and comment on Map Amendment #671/P&Z Appl. #14-004, Town Plan Map Amendment to change 35 Elm Street (Baldwin Parking Lot) from Parking to General Business Center.
- To hear a request by the property owners and to appoint a study committee for the proposed designation as a local historic district for the two properties at 188 Cross Highway identified on the Historic Resources Inventory as the Schilthius-Meeker House and barn (street addresses are 178 Cross Highway and 180 Cross Highway).
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 18 Blue Ribbon Drive.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 36 Burr Farms Road.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 6 Brook Lane.

12. To comment on the historic or architectural significance of a potential violation of the Town of
Westport’s Anti-Blight Ordinance at 17 Wake Robin Road.

13. Upon the request of a HDC member, to consider support for his independent nomination to the Connecticut Trust for a 2014 Connecticut Preservation Award.
