Notice & Agenda

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at 8:30 a.m. in Room 309/307 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):

1. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of Oct. 9, 2013, and minutes of the Water Pollution Control Authority’s public hearing of Oct. 9, 2013.

2. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the contract between the Town of Westport and Bruce Lindsay, for the position of Tree Warden, as recommended by the Director of Public Works.

3. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as the Imperial Avenue parking lot by The Westport Woman’s Club for the Annual Yankee Doodle Fair from Monday, June 9, 2014 through Sunday, June 15, 2014, contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments including the Westport/Weston Health District, and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways, as amended Sept. 15, 2010.

4. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Jesup Green and the adjacent parking lot for the Westport Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, April 26, 2014 contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments, and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways, as amended Sept. 15, 2010.

5. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Imperial Avenue parking lot by Boy Scout Troop 39 for a Christmas Tree Pick-up fundraiser on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 (snow day Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014) contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments, and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways, as amended Sept. 15, 2010.

6. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to approve the use of town roads for the Annual Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 26, 2014, and further to request Connecticut Traffic Authority permission for use of certain state roads for such event, as recommended by the Parks & Recreation Director.

7. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to approve the use of town roads for the weekly road runners series, including the Labor Day weekend road race, contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments, as recommended by the Parks & Recreation Director.

8. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve an application for a Certified Local Government Historic Preservation Enhancement Grant in the amount of $2,800 for the preparation of a study report for the proposed local historic district designation of Maplewood Avenue, as recommended by the Historic District Commission.

9. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the leases for the following town-owned properties: 99 Myrtle Avenue, 52 Compo Road South, 52B Compo Road South, Knoll House #1 (260 Compo Road South), Knoll House #2 (260 Compo Road South), and Cabin #1 (260 Compo Road South), as recommended by the Town Attorney.

10. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve an agreement between the Town of Westport and ValleyCrest Golf Course Maintenance, Inc., to provide contract maintenance services related to the Longshore Club Park Golf Course, as recommended by the Parks & Recreation Director.

11. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve an agreement between the Town of Westport and G&C Marina Services to provide storage of floating docks at Ned Dimes Marina, as recommended by the Parks & Recreation Director.

12. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to approve a residential sanitary sewer connection at property located at 378 Riverside Avenue, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Coordinator’s letter of Oct. 22, 2013.
