LEGAL NOTICE AND AGENDA
Notice is hereby given that the Westport Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall Room 201 for the following purposes:
- To hear Chair’s report and update on current HDC activities.
- To approve the minutes of the July 9, 2013 public hearing.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the final study report for the proposed local historic property designation of the Minuteman Monument located at the circle set in the intersection of the rights of ways of Compo Road South and Compo Beach Road.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application for the exterior weatherizing and re-siding of the barn at 57 Wright Street located in the Kings Highway North Historic District.
- To review and comment on Planning and Zoning Transmittal regarding 35 Elm Street (Baldwin Parking Lot), §8-24 Request to Relocate Kemper-Gunn House from 35 Church Lane to Baldwin Parking Lot.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 42 Easton Road.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 7 Pine Street.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay for a demolition permit application at 32 Gorham Avenue.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 20 Maple Avenue South.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 4 Elmwood Road.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 6 Peach Lot Place.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 18 Sturges Commons.
- To review and comment to Planning and Zoning on the proposed demolition at 1 Conte Place.
- To discuss recent state enabling legislation that allows a municipality to “Protect the historic or architectural character of properties or districts that are listed or under consideration for listing on, the National Register of Historic Places, 16a USC 470, or the state register of historic places, as defined in section 10-410.”
- To review and consider a position regarding the proposed Anti-Blight ordinance currently being considered by the RTM.
- To discuss possible nominations for the upcoming 2013 Annual Preservation awards to be announced in the fall.
