The Board of Selectmen and Water Pollution Control Authority meeting schedule is posted to the town's web calendar each February for the following 12 months.  See below for proposed standing meeting dates which are subject to change.  Consult the calendar as the meeting date approaches for agenda and updates.

Legal Notice & Agenda

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority, and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):

1. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s March 13, 2013 public hearing; the minutes of the Water Pollution Control Authority’s minutes of the special public hearing of March 13, 2013; and the Water Pollution Control Authority’s minutes of the public hearing of March 13, 2013.

2. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a waiver of the Westport Policy on Encroachments on Town Property, at property known as 10 Devon Road, contingent upon compliance with the Town Engineer’s letter of April 1, 2013.

3. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the acceptance of monetary gifts from community residents and organizations to the Westport Department of Human Services Family Programs escrow funds in support of the 2012-13 Campership and Ceremonies and Celebrations programs, in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town, as amended Oct. 28, 1998.

4. To take such action as the meeting may determine acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to approve the closure of Main Street from Post Road East to Avery Place, and the closure of Myrtle Avenue from Evergreen Avenue to Main Street, on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 from 3 – 5 p.m. for the annual Halloween Parade.

5. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Veterans Green on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 for the annual Halloween Parade and Party, as recommended by the Parks & Recreation Department.

6. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Veterans Green on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, for the annual Nutmeg Tour for Autism, contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments including the Westport/Weston Health District and in accordance with the Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.

7. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to approve the closure of Main Street, from the intersection with Post Road East to the intersection of Avery Place, on Thursday, May 23,. 2013 (rain date Thursday, May 30, 2013) from 2:30 – 9:30 p.m. (event hours 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.) for the Westport Downtown Merchants Association’s Art About Town, contingent with compliance of comments from various town departments including the Westport/Weston Health District.

8. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Parker Harding Plaza by the Westport Downtown Merchants Association on July 20 and July 21, 2013 for the 40th Annual Fine Arts Festival, contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments including the Westport/Weston Health District and with the Procedures for Use of Town-Owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways as amended Sept. 15, 2010.

9. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve of a three-way interconnection agreement between the Town of Westport, Connecticut Light & Power Company, and ECI Energy for solar panels at the Saugatuck eastbound train station as recommended by the Building Official.

10. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Parker Harding Parking Plaza adjacent to and by Acqua Restaurant for a pop-up café contingent upon compliance with the Town of Westport Pop-up Seating and Pop-up Café Guidelines as amended March 14, 2012.

11. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Bay Street adjacent to and by LaVilla Trattoria for a pop-up café contingent upon compliance with the Town of Westport Pop-up Seating and Pop-up Café Guidelines as amended March 14, 2012.
