RTM Ordinance Committee
The RTM Ordinance Committee will meet on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 10 am in Town Hall Room 201.
Business to be conducted includes such action as the committee may determine relevant to the review of the following two proposed ordinances:
1. An ordinance (full text below) providing for expanded hours for alcohol sales at restaurants and certain other establishments on certain Sundays, and
2. An ordinance (full text available in the Town Clerk’s office) providing for changes in Conservation Department Fees.
Sec. 6-1. - Permitted hours for Sunday sales.
The Town shall allow the sale of alcoholic liquor on Sunday between the hours of 12:00 noon and 11:00 p.m. in all establishments operating under the liquor permits cited in C.G.S. § 30-91(a). However, when Memorial Day, Labor Day, New Year’s Day and Independence Day is celebrated on a Monday, the sale of alcoholic liquor shall be allowed between the hours of 12:00 noon on the immediately preceding Sunday and 1:00 am the following Monday.
