Board of Selectwomen Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectwomen, Traffic Authority, and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, Connecticut. The meeting will be livestreamed on www.westportct.gov and/or broadcast on Westport’s Optimum Government Access Channel 79, subject to availability. Comments from the public regarding agenda items may be sent for distribution to the Board prior to the meeting to selectwoman@westportct.gov. Agenda to include but not be limited to the following items and is subject to revision:
- To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectwomen’s public meeting of August 28, 2024.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Tax Collector and in accordance with C.G.S. Sec. 12-129, to approve the refunds of overpayments of taxes, as presented.
- Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to review and approve the request by the Department of Public Works to establish an expansion of the existing NO PARKING ZONE on the Town Roadway known as Morningside Drive South to include NO PARKING from its intersection with Post Road East (CT RTE 1) to its intersection with Center Street, and to authorize installation of associated MUTCD signage.
- Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the closure of (i) Main Street from Post Road to Avery Place (ii) Avery Place from Main Street to Myrtle Avenue and(iii) Myrtle Avenue from Evergreen Avenue to Main Street from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 (rain date: Wednesday, October 30, 2024) for the Parks & Recreation-sponsored Halloween Parade.
- Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Police Department, to designate the Town roadway known as Lyons Plains Road as a NO THRU TRUCKS route from the Weston town line to Weston Road (Route 57) in Westport, and further, to authorize the First Selectwoman to request such designation from the CT OSTA on behalf of the LTA.
- To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Director of Human Services, to approve the Memorandum of Understanding between the Town of Westport, the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)Year 2024-2025 and Alliance for Community Empowerment, Inc., allowing Westport Human Services to serve as an intake site to assist Westport residents in completing the DSS/CEAP applications for energy assistance.
