Board of Selectwomen Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectwomen, Traffic Authority, and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 9:00 AM in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, Connecticut. The meeting will be livestreamed on www.westportct.gov and/or broadcast on Westport’s Optimum Government Access Channel 79, subject to availability. Comments from the public regarding agenda items may be sent for distribution to the Board prior to the meeting to selectwoman@westportct.gov. Agenda to include but not be limited to the following items and is subject to revision:
1. To take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectwomen’s and Water Pollution Control Authority’s meetings of March 13, 2024.
2. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Tax Collector and in accordance with C.G.S. Sec. 12-129, to approve the refunds of overpayments of taxes, as presented.
3. Acting as the Local Traffic Authority (LTA), to take such action as the meeting may determine to review and approve the request from the Compo Beach Improvement Association to close a portion of the Town roadway known as Soundview Avenue from Westport Avenue to Fairfield Avenue at 10:00 AM (set up) to 5:00 PM (breakdown) on Sunday, July 28, 2024 (Rain Date August 4, 2024) for the Soundview Stroll event, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from Town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.
4. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Human Services Director, to approve the Award of Contract for Bid No. 23-071T (Project No. SC2015803, Gillespie Center Renovations) to Zeiss Construction Group for the Gillespie Center (45 Jesup Road) Renovation, a CDBG Sister Cities funded project, subject to final Town Attorney review.
5. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a Temporary Access Agreement between the Town of Westport and Connecticut Light and Power Company dba Eversource Energy as it relates to allowing access over four certain town-owned roadways and driveways located at the Town’s Water Pollution Control Facility at 4 Elaine Road to replace communications cables on CL&P’s poles on or adjacent to the Facility.
6. Acting as the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA), to approve the supplemental sanitary sewer connection at #4 Whitney Street Extension, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Collection System Supervisor’s letter of March 13, 2024.
7. Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) and in accordance with Chapter 103, C.G.S. § 7-245, et. seq., to approve the final benefit assessments to be levied against properties that obtained supplemental sanitary sewer connection approval during 2023, as posted with the Town Clerk’s Office on March 15, 2024.
