9:05 AM Guest Speaker – Amiee Turner, Executive Director of Woofgang & Co.
Team Woofgang & Co. is a 501(c)3 organization that gives vocational training and life-long learning opportunities to adults with disabilities in the area through the baking and selling of our signature dog treats. (woofgangco.org) Team Woofgang & Co. (TWC) is squarely focused on empowering adults with physical, intellectual, and developmental disabilities by creating a supportive environment that allows each team member to build confidence and expand their independence. We use two curricula - production and retail - to provide learning opportunities tailored to the unique, special abilities of each team member. Currently TWC provides services to over 60 individuals from towns including Darien, Norwalk, Westport, Southport, Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Millford, New Canaan, Weston, Easton, Redding, Trumbull, Shelton, Newtown, Sandy Hook, and West Haven. Our mission is to provide individualized vocational training, life-long learning, and social opportunities to adults with disabilities, free of charge, and support their families and communities to help them live the fullest of lives.
