The Board of Selectmen and Water Pollution Control Authority meeting schedule is posted to the town's web calendar each February for the following 12 months.  See below for proposed standing meeting dates which are subject to change.  Consult the calendar as the meeting date approaches for agenda and updates.

Notice & Agenda

Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectwomen, Traffic Authority, and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 9:00 AM in the Westport Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, Connecticut. It will be livestreamed on www.westportct.gov and broadcast on Westport’s Optimum Government Access Channel 79 and Frontier Channel 6020. Comments from the public regarding agenda items may be sent to selectwoman@westportct.gov prior to the meeting. Agenda to include but not be limited to the following items (subject to revision):

1. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectwomen’s and Water Pollution Control Authority’s meeting of January 25, 2023.

2. To take such action as the meeting may determine in accordance with the Town of Westport Policy for Gifts to the Town, to review the accounting of monetary donations under $5,001 accepted by the First Selectwoman during the calendar year 2022. 

3. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request for a waiver under the Town Policy on Encroachments on Town Property (the “Policy”) as it relates to sections of a fieldstone wall at 174 Hillspoint Road that encroach a total length of approximately 75 feet on the town right-of-way adjacent to the property, contingent upon compliance with the Policy and execution of an Encroachment Easement satisfactory to the Town Attorney’s Office. 

TENTATIVE
4. To take such action as the meeting may determine in accordance with Chapter 50 Article IV,  STREETS AND SIDEWALKS. Sec. 50-412 Appeals, to review the appeal of decision of the Director of Public Works’ designee dated January 10, 2023, to replace the deficient condition of the sidewalk adjacent to the property at 993 Post Road East in accordance with Town standards, submitted on behalf of 991-995 Post Road East, LLC.

5. Acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, upon the request of the Parks & Recreation Director, to approve the use of Town roads for the weekly Road Runners Series, contingent upon compliance with comments from various Town departments and in accordance with the Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways, and further, to request permission from the Connecticut Traffic Authority for the use of certain state roads for the August 5, August 12 and September 1, 2023 races. 

6. Acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, upon the request of the Parks & Recreation Director, to approve the use of Town roads for the Annual Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 29, 2022, contingent upon compliance with comments from various Town departments and in accordance with the Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways, and further, to request permission from the Connecticut Traffic Authority for the use of certain state roads for the event.

7. Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA), to approve the supplemental sanitary sewer connection at #35 Wright Street, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Collection System Supervisor’s letter of January 27, 2023.

8. Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA), to approve the supplemental sanitary sewer connection at #45 Kings Highway North, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Collection System Supervisor’s letter of January 30, 2023.

9. Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA), to determine preliminary benefit assessments to be levied for the construction of a sewer system (Contract No. 73) affecting properties located in all or part of the following areas: 

Whitney Street, Roseville Road, Fernwood Road, Plumtree Lane, Pamela Place and Ledgemoor Lane.
