HEARING # 1:
CT Department of Housing Small Cities Diversion Program Progress Report FY 20

The Town of Westport will hold a public hearing to report on the status of the Small Cities CDBG Public Service Diversionary program grant SC2015801 which Westport manages on behalf of Fairfield County’s Coordinated Access Network (CAN) for FY 2020-22.

HEARING #2:
CT Department of Housing CARES Act Funding Grant Update FY 21

The Town of Westport submitted a grant application to the Department of Housing to receive CARES Act Funding for SC2015803 in August of 2020 and received an award of $500,000 to accomplish the goal of preventing, responding to, and preparing for COVID-19 at Homes With Hope's Gillespie Center Homeless Shelter.  Pre-project activities have identified additional opportunities for architectural and technological enhancements to the facility, allowing for significant improvements in food and service delivery methods. Therefore, the request was made to increase the funding to $1,000,000 to increase safe practices for our shelter residents, staff, volunteers, and clients to safely access food and homelessness services on the second story of the facility. This hearing will provide an overview of the project.
