The Board of Selectmen and Water Pollution Control Authority meeting schedule is posted to the town's web calendar each February for the following 12 months.  See below for proposed standing meeting dates which are subject to change.  Consult the calendar as the meeting date approaches for agenda and updates.

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at 4 p.m. in Room 309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):

1. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of Jan. 18, 2011.

2. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the appointment of William Scheffler as Westport’s representative to the Westport/Weston Foundation Distribution Committee effective immediately for a five year term expiring January 2016.

3. To take such action as the meeting may determine and in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town as amended Oct. 28, 1998, to approve the acceptance of a monetary gift from the Katz Family Foundation to the Westport Police Department.

4. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property known as Parker-Harding Plaza on June 11, 2011 by the Westport Sunrise Rotary Foundation for the 3rd Annual Great Duck Race, contingent upon compliance with comments from town departments and in accordance with the Procedures for Use of Town-Owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.

5. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to approve the use of certain town-owned roadways for the Annual Bloomin Metric bike event to be held on Sunday, May 22, 2011, contingent upon compliance with comments from town departments and Procedures for Granting Special Permission to Use Town-owned Property and/or Roads.

6. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to approve the use of certain town-owned roadways for the Fun Spring Running Road Race to benefit The Laddie Lawrence Scholarship Fund to be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011, contingent upon compliance with comments from town departments and Procedures for Granting Special Permission to Use Town-owned Property and/or Roads.

7. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a revision to the Parks and Recreation Rules and Regulations Governing Use of Municipal Beaches, Yacht Basin, Longshore Club Park Area and Recreation Facilities as recommended by the Parks and Recreation Commission as below:

IV. Parking and Traffic

4.b. Vehicles PARKED in beach areas (Old Mill Parking Lot, [Sherwood Mill Pond Preserve] DELETE and Longshore Club Park) without current parking emblem shall be subject to a $50.00 parking ticket per day.

10. Parking at Sherwood Mill Pond Preserve (191 Hillspoint Road) is restricted to persons using the property. Vehicles [may not be] DELETE left unattended [shall be subject to a $50.00 parking ticket per day] ADD

8. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the Trust and Custody Fee Agreement between the Town of Westport and Wells Fargo Institutional Retirement & Trust, as recommended by the Finance Director.

9. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to set a public hearing date to consider proposed assessments and to determine final assessments to be levied for the construction or acquisition of sewerage system affecting supplemental sanitary sewer connections approved during 2010 and in accordance with Chapter 103 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

10. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to approve modifications to the current billing cycle for Benefit Assessments and Sanitary Sewer Use Charges whereby the billing cycle will be on a quarterly-based system, as proposed by the Tax Collector.
