Notice is hereby given that
the Westport Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday,
October 9, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall Room 201/201A for the following
purpose:
1. For the
Proposed Establishment of the Lincoln Street-Riverside Avenue Local Historic
District which will include:
All properties located in the
Town of Westport, County of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, as shown in the
study report for proposed Lincoln Street-Riverside Avenue Local Historic
District, Westport, Connecticut,
prepared by, Heritage Resources, dated June 25, 2018, and currently
known as:

The purpose of the public hearing is to review a
request to include the above properties within the proposed Lincoln Street-Riverside
Avenue Local Historic District and to accept the study report reviewed by the
State Historic Preservation Council and the Westport Planning and Zoning
Commission.
The notice will be published in the Westport News twice, first on Friday, September 28, 2018 and
second on Friday, October 5, 2018. A copy
of the study report, attached Historic Resources Inventory Forms, and comments
from the State Historic Preservation Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission
can be viewed at the Town Clerk’s Office or the Historic District Commission Office.
2. To hear the Chair’s report and update on current HDC activities.
3. To approve the minutes of the September 11,
2018 public hearing and the September 25, 2018 continuance meeting.
4. To take such
action as the meeting may determine to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application dated September 10, 2018
for the installation of two fences at 24
Evergreen Avenue located in the Evergreen Avenue Local Historic
District.
5. To take such
action as the meeting may determine to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application dated September 20, 2018
for the installation of a monument at 6
Violet Lane located in the Violet Lane Local Historic District.
6. To consider
a nomination for the establishment of the Canal
Street National Register District.
7. To consider
a request by the property owner for the proposed local historic designation at 39 Cross Highway.
8. To take such action as the meeting may
determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 16 Weston Road and require the full
180-day delay.
9. To take such action as the meeting may
determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 4 Sue Terrace and require the full
180-day delay.
