WESTPORT HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION
*REVISED LEGAL NOTICE AND AGENDA
Notice is hereby given that the Westport Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, in Town Hall Room 309/307 for the following purposes:
PUBLIC HEARING
1.To hear the Chair’s report and update on current HDC activities.
2.To approve the minutes of the July 10, 2018 meeting.
3.To review and comment on Section 106 review letter for State Project #158-206 for the replacement of Bridge #00069 and the rehabilitation of Bridge #04357, which carry Beachside Avenue over I-95 and the Metro North Railroad, respectively.
4.To hear a request on behalf of the Historical Society to propose the placement of a commemorative plaque in the new downtown parking area to acknowledge the contributions made by African Americans in Westport.
5.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 15 Bulkley Avenue South and require the full 180-day delay.
6.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 492 North Main Street and require the full 180-day delay.
7.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 48 Bayberry Lane, and require the full 180-day delay.
8.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 49 High Point Road and require the full 180-day delay.
9.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 25 Island Way and require the full 180-day delay.
10.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 280 Compo Road South.
11.*To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 26 Morningside Drive South (main house) , ca. 1853 located in the 20 and 26 Morningside Drive South Local Historic District.
12.*To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 20 Morningside Drive South (studio ) , ca. 1970 located in the 20 and 26 Morningside Drive South Local Historic District.
13.*To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 26 Morningside Drive South (shed) , ca. 1953 located in the 20 and 26 Morningside Drive South Local Historic District.
14.*To discuss street signage for local historic districts and National Register Districts.
15.To discuss the list of 2018 Annual Preservation Award recipients to be presented on October 15, 2018.
