Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in Room 307/309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purposes (subject to revision):
1.To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public meeting of July 25, 2018.
2.To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of Town-owned property known as Jesup Green and further, to approve the closures of 1) the Town-owned property known as the Riverwalk, from 8 a.m. to midnight on Saturday, August 25, 2018, and 2) the Town-owned property known as the Upper Library Parking Lot from midnight to midnight on Saturday, August 25, 2018 for the pre-concert reception, load-in, set up, technical rehearsal and performance as they relate to the Levitt Pavilion’s Annual Gala Event, contingent upon compliance with comments from relevant Town Departments and in accordance with the Policy for Use of Town-owned Properties, Facilities and/or Roadways.
3.Acting as the Local Traffic Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request to close Main Street from Post Road to Avery Place, Avery Place to Myrtle Avenue, and Myrtle Avenue from Evergreen Avenue to Main Street on Monday, October 29, 2018 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm for the Annual Halloween Parade, contingent upon compliance with comments from relevant Town Departments.
4.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Parks & Recreation Commission, to approve proposed policy changes and clarification of Section II. Animals, Item #1 All Properties and Item #4 Beaches – Compo/Burying Hill/Old Mill, subsection “a” of the Parks and Recreation Regulations, as they relate to regulating animals on certain areas of town property under the jurisdiction of the Parks & Recreation Department, and as further described in the memo filed with the Town Clerk’s Office on July 25, 2018.
5.To take such action as the meeting may determine to accept the transfer of ownership of one (1) 2018 Ford Police Interceptor UTILITY vehicle upgraded to EMS Fly Car Standards from the Westport Volunteer Emergency Medical Service (WVEMS) to the Town of Westport, in accordance with the Westport Policy for Gifts to the Town.
