WESTPORT HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION
LEGAL NOTICE AND AGENDA
Notice is hereby given that the Westport Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in Town Hall Room 309/307 for the following purposes:
PUBLIC HEARING
1.To hear the Chair’s report and update on current HDC activities.
2.To approve the minutes of the April 10, 2018 meeting.
3.To consider the local historic landmark property designation at 15 Hyatt Lane and appoint a study committee.
4.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit (Quonset hut) at 1529 Post Road East and require the full 180-day delay.
5.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 20 Webb Road and require the full 180-day delay.
6.To take such action as the meeting may determine to oppose the issuance of the demolition permit at 111 Harbor Road and require the full 180-day delay.
7.To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application for the proposed window modifications at 76 Kings Highway North located in the Kings Highway North Local Historic District.
8.To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application for the proposed bird bath installation on a stone embedded post support at 6 Violet Lane located in the Violet Lane Local Historic District.
9.To review and comment on the draft study report for the proposed extension of the Kings Highway North Local Historic District for submission to the Planning and Zoning Commission and the State Historic Preservation Office for their review and comment.
10.Upon the request of property owners, to consider the proposed local historic district designation for specific historic resources on Riverside Avenue and Lincoln Street.
11.To comment on the proposed demolition of historic resources identified on the Historic Resources Inventory for the proposed development site at 57-59 Post Road West, 63-73 Post Road West, 1 Lincoln Street, 19-21 Lincoln Street, and 37 Lincoln Street.
12.To comment to the Planning and Zoning Commission on proposed subdivision at 26 Morningside Drive South located in the 20 and 26 Morningside Drive South Local Historic District.
13.To review previous support for the proposed thematic nomination of nine local stone bridges and the proposed Lees Canal National Register Nomination Study.
