Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 4 p.m. in Room 309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):
1. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of July 13, 2011.
2. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the acceptance of a gift from the Westport Garden Club of a garden at the Ned Dimes Marina at Compo Beach in memory of Charles Lucas, as recommended by the Parks & Recreation Commission and in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town as amended Oct. 28, 1998.
3. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of town-owned property in the Saugatuck area, including but not limited to Luciano Park, for the Slice of Saugatuck Festival to take place on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, contingent upon compliance with comments from town departments including the Westport/Weston Health District and in accordance with the Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.
4. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the acceptance of a grant from the United Way of Fairfield County to the Westport Human Services Department in the amount of $6,000 to support the Positive Youth Development’s Parenting and Community Service Corps programs.
5. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the Fiscal Year 2011-13 Youth Service Bureau grant application to the State Department of Education; and further to approve acceptance of such funds for the Positive Youth Development programs including the Mentor Program, various parent education and training programs, the Annual Mental Health Breakfast, Directory of Community Resources for Children & Families, and the toll-free telephone hotline to Kids in Crisis; and further to authorize First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff to sign such documentation on behalf of the Town of Westport.
6. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve and adopt a policy for the creation of pop-out seating converting parking spaces along curb lanes to areas for public seating in front of restaurants and other eating establishments.
7. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to approve the establishment of one-hour parking limit on the south side of Church Lane from the intersection of Elm Street west bound to the intersection of Post Road East, as recommended by the Westport Police Department.
8. To take such action as the meeting may determine to award a bid and approve a contract between the Town of Westport and Mark IV Construction Company, the low bidder, for installation of individual sanitary sewer laterals along Route 136 as a portion of the Saugatuck Shores Sewer Project, as recommended by the Public Works Department.
9. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve a business associate agreement between the Town of Westport and McGladrey & Pullen, LLP.
