Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 307/309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purposes:


1. To approve the minutes of 1) the Board of Selectmen’s special public hearing of September 19, 2017; 2) the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of September 27, 2017; and 3) the Water Pollution Control Authority’s public hearing of September 27, 2017.


DISCUSSION ITEM
2. Discussion with the Westport Town Attorney regarding the City of Waterbury v. Perdue Pharma litigation as it relates to the opioid epidemic.


3. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request to use various Town roads from 8:45 am to 10:00 am on Sunday, June 3, 2018 for the Fairfield Half Marathon event sponsored by Fairfield Half Marathon, Inc., contingent upon compliance with recommendations from various Town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.


4. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Local Traffic Authority, to approve the request for “NO PARKING” signs on the north and south sides of Richmondville Avenue from its intersection with Main Street to Carlisle Court, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from the Town Highway and Westport Police Departments.


5. To take such action as the meeting may determine, acting in its capacity as the Local Traffic Authority, to approve the request for “STOP” signs at the intersections of Dexter Road and Hunting Lane and at Fairport Road and Hunting Lane, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from the Town Highway and Westport Police Departments.


6. To take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve a temporary construction easement between the Town of Westport and Buttendorf Building & Remodeling, LLC for five (5) parking spaces located on Town property known as Old Mill Parking Lot, and further; to authorize First Selectman James Marpe to sign a letter agreeing that the Town will not use the easement around the westerly and northerly sides of the dwelling at 36 Old Mill Road that was granted to the Town by the owner of 36 Old Mill Road, dated April 3, 1990, and further described in the Town of Westport Land Records at Book 1051, Page 233, for a period of time not to exceed ninety (90) days while the dwelling at 36 Old Mill Road is raised and secured on a new or modified foundation, contingent upon compliance with all requirements from relevant town departments.


7. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Personnel Director, to approve the Agreement between the Town of Westport and Unemployment Tax Management Corporation (UTMC) as it relates to services for unemployment compensation administration.
