Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 307/309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purposes:
1. To approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of July 12, 2017.
2. Acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to review and approve the request by Aquarion Water Company to close portions of and to authorize nighttime construction on Myrtle Avenue between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. on dates in August to be determined for work associated with a water main replacement, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from the Westport Police Department.
3. Acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to review and approve the request to close the portion of Soundview Avenue between Danbury Avenue and Fairfield Avenue between 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017 for the Compo Beach Improvement Association block party, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from the Westport Police Department.
4. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the closures of 1) the Town-owned roadway known as Taylor Place from 8 a.m. to midnight; and 2) the Town-owned property known as t he Riverwalk from 8 a.m. to midnight on Thursday, August 24, 2017, for the set up and performance activity related to the Levitt Pavilion’s Annual Gala Event, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from Town departments and in accordance with the Policy for Use of Town-owned Properties, Facilities and/or Roadways.
5. To take such action as the meeting may determine to: 1) approve the closure of Railroad Place and Franklin Street; and 2) approve the use of Town-owned property known as Luciano Park on Sunday, October 1, 2017, from 7:00 a.m. to noon for the “Concours d’Caffeine” event, sponsored by the PBA Scholarship Foundation, contingent upon compliance with recommendations from Town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.
6. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the use of Town-owned property known as Veterans Green on Sunday, October 15, 2017, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the Air Cooled Classic Car Show & Charity Fundraiser event, sponsored by Homes With Hope (with Small Car Company), contingent upon compliance with recommendations from Town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.
7. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Finance Director to approve the Auditing Services Agreement between the Town of Westport and RSM US, LLP as it relates to performing the Town audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2017.
8. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Registrars of Voters, to approve the Annual Maintenance Contract between the Town of Westport and LHS Associates, Inc. for maintenance, repair and service of tabulator/ballot boxes.
9. To take such action as the meeting may determine upon the recommendation of the Director of Human Services to approve the Affiliation Agreement between the Town of Westport and the University of New Haven as it relates to the Dietetic Internship Program.
10. To take such action as the meeting may determine upon the recommendation of the Director of Human Services to authorize First Selectman James S. Marpe to certify the Statement of Assurances associated with acceptance of the 2017-2019 Youth Services Bureau Grant on behalf of the Town of Westport.
11. To take such action as the meeting may determine upon the recommendation of the Director of Human Services to approve the agreement between the Town of Westport and ARS Architects as it relates to the design development and construction administration services for the Westport Center for Senior Activities enhancement project.
12. To take such action as the meeting may determine upon the recommendation of the Director of Human Services to approve the agreement between the Town of Westport and AP Construction for the construction management services for the Westport Center for Senior Activities enhancement project.
13. To take such action as the meeting may determine upon the recommendation of the Director of Parks and Recreation to approve the contract for the bunker improvement project at Longshore Golf Course.
14. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, to approve the award of contract Bid #17-889T to Carson Corporation for directional drilling related to the Pump Station #2 force main replacement project.
15. To take such action as the meeting may determine upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, to approve the award of contract Bid #18-894T to J&M Transfer for the disposal of sludge generated at the Westport Water Pollution Control Facility.
16. Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the residential sanitary sewer connection request at property known as 16 Danbury Avenue, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Coordinator’s letter of July 7, 2017.
17. Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the residential sanitary sewer connection request at property known as 15 Hilltop Trail, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Coordinator’s letter of July 26, 2017.
