Notice is hereby given that the Westport Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 307/309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purposes:
1.To approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of December 14, 2016 and the Water Pollution Control Authority’s public hearing of December 14, 2016.
2.To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request to use various Town roads from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, 2017 for the 2017 Minuteman Road Race, contingent upon compliance with comments from various Town Departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town Property, Facilities and Public Roadways.
3.To approve the request to use various Town roads from on 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2017 for the Westport Kiwanis Club Triathlon, contingent upon compliance with comments from various Town Departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town Property, Facilities and Public Roadways.
4.Upon the recommendation of the Human Services Director and in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town, to accept an anonymous monetary gift to the Town of Westport Human Services Families in Need and Senior Client Needs escrow funds.
5.Upon the recommendation of the Human Services Director and in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town, to accept monetary gifts to the Town of Westport Human Services Department 2016 Holiday Program (DHS Family Program account).
6.Upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police and in accordance with the Policy for Gifts to the Town, to accept monetary gifts to the Town of Westport Police K9 Unit.
7.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Town Clerk, to approve the contract between the State of Connecticut, Connecticut State Library and the Town of Westport as it relates to the 2017 Historic Document Preservation Grant award in the amount of $5,000.
8.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Finance Director, to approve the contract between the Town of Westport and Intrinsic Risk Services as it relates to performing safety inspections of the Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments.
9.To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, to approve the award of contract in the amount of $85,000 to BL Companies as it relates to the design and permitting work for the replacement of the Kings Highway North Bridge.
10.Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine, to approve the supplemental sanitary sewer connection request at property known as 32 Indian Hill Road, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Coordinator’s letter of December 29, 2016.
11.Acting in its capacity as the Traffic Authority, to review, receive an update, and discuss future plans and recommendations related to traffic patterns and circulation in the Downtown area including those proposed in the Downtown Master Plan, and in particular as they relate to Myrtle Avenue.
