WESTPORT HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION
LEGAL NOTICE AND AGENDA
Notice is hereby given that the Westport Historic District Commission will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in Town Hall Room 201 for the following purposes:
PUBLIC HEARING
1.To hear Chair’s report and update on current HDC activities.
2.To approve the minutes of the January 12, 2016 public hearing.
3.To approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application dated January 26, 2016 for proposed exterior modifications to small frame accessory structure and main structure, and addition to the main structure at 300 Main Street located in the Gorham Avenue Local Historic District.
4.To approve a Certificate of Appropriateness Application dated January 26, 2016 for the installation of a town owned sidewalk fronting 46 Wright Street located in the Kings Highway North Historic District.
5.To hear a request from a resident to nominate Bridge Street (from Compo Road South to the Saugatuck River Bridge/William F. Cribari Memorial Bridge) as a National Register District.
6.To hear a request from Attorney Michael T. Bologna on behalf of Westport residents to discuss the formation of a Study Committee for a proposed boundary amendment of the Kings Highway North Historic District.
7.To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 16 Old Hill Farms Road.
8.To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 11 Hunt Club Lane.
9.To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 9 Owenoke Park located in the Compo/Owenoke National Register Historic District.
10.To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 18 Evergreen Parkway.
11.To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 32 Woodside Avenue, c. 1850, identified on the Historic Resources Inventory.
12.To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 6 Evans Court.
13.To take such action as the meeting may determine to waive the balance of the delay period for a demolition permit application at 17 Owenoke Park located in the Compo/Owenoke National Register District. (Waiver denied at 1/12/16 public hearing).
14.To discuss ways of reviewing demolition waiver requests for properties deemed historically and architecturally insignificant by the members.
