Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Westport Shellfish Commission is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Room 309 of the Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue to take such action as the meeting may determine regarding the following:
1. Approval of November 2, 2011 meeting minutes.
2. Treasurer’s Report
3. Police Report
4. Recreational Shellfish Report
5. New Business
a. Discussion with Brian Cilento on possible uses for and access to oyster ground operations for oyster growing business upon vacant lots 71 and 96 on Comp Mill Cove located between town-owned tidegates.
b. Review of 2012 meeting calendar
c. Report on the 8th Annual Gathering of Shellfish Commissions
d. Consideration of possible public clam dig
e. Consideration for encouraging greater student involvement in local shellfishing activities
f. Consideration of writing letter of support for more staff for the Dept of Agriculture/Bureau of Aquaculture so that water and meat sampling can be done in a timely manner to facilitate quicker reopenings.
