Westport Board of Selectmen

Notice & Agenda

August 25, 2016

 Notice is hereby given that the Board of Selectmen, Traffic Authority and Water Pollution Control Authority will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. in Room 307/309 of the Westport Town Hall for the following purpose(s):

1. To approve the minutes of the Board of Selectmen’s public hearing of July 27, 2016 and the minutes of the Water Pollution Control Authority’s Special Meeting of July 21, 2016.

 2. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request to use various Town roads from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 18, 2016 for the Bike the Beach event sponsored by Probus of Greater Bridgeport, contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town-owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.

 3. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request to use various Town roads from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm on Thursday, November 24, 2016 for the Thanksgiving Day 5-Mile Road Race sponsored by the Pequot Running Club, Inc., contingent upon compliance with comments from various town departments and in accordance with Procedures for Use of Town- owned Property, Facilities and/or Public Roadways.

 4. To take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the request for a waiver of the Westport Policy on Encroachments on Town Property as it relates to stone wall(s) and fence located within the Town right-of-way on property known as 96 Kings Highway North.

 5. To take such action as the meeting may determine to authorize the First Selectman on behalf of the Historic District Commission to (i) apply for a $15,000 Certified Local Government Historic Preservation Enhancement Grant for the preparation of a Bridge Street National Register Nomination Study form the Department of Economic and Community Development, State Historic Preservation Office and to (ii) accept the grant and to execute all documents in connection therewith.

 6. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Operations Director, to accept the CT OPM Responsible Growth and Transit-Oriented Development Grant Award in the amount of $440,000 to fund a Saugatuck Station Area TOD Master Plan.

 7. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Center for Senior Activities Enhancement Committee, to approve the Agreement between the Town of Westport and
 A + R Architecture for schematic design services related to the enhancement of Town-owned property known as the Center for Senior Activities located at 21 Imperial Avenue.

 8. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Chief of Police, to review and approve the Sublease between the Town of Westport and Donut Crazy, LLC as it relates to the use of the Town of Westport’s Leased Premises known as the Saugatuck Railroad Station located at 1 Ferry Lane.

 9. To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Town Attorney, to approve the Letter of Agreement between the Town of Westport and Northeast Collaborative Architects (NCA) as it relates to Architectural and Engineering Services for the Renovation, Capital Improvement and Structural Analysis Study for the Town-owned property known as the Inn at Longshore located at 260 Compo Road South.

 10.  To take such action as the meeting may determine, upon the request of the Finance Director, to approve the Consulting Services Agreement between the Town of Westport and Marsh & McLennon Agency, LLC as it relates to Workers Compensation, Property & Casualty Renewals, and analysis and assistance with the Town and Board of Education Safety and Health Committees.

 11.  Acting in its capacity as the Water Pollution Control Authority, to take such action as the meeting may determine to approve the residential sanitary sewer connection request at property known as 8 Mimi Lane, contingent upon compliance with the WPCA Coordinator’s letter of August 17, 2016.
